Kamalia, located in the Toba Tek Singh District of Punjab, Pakistan, serves as the administrative center of Kamalia Tehsil. Despite its relatively modest size, Kamalia stands out as the 42nd largest city in Pakistan by population, boasting a significant populace compared to nearby cities like Rajana, Chichawatni, and Pir Mahal. Situated along the southern banks of the River Ravi, Kamalia is bordered by Chichawatni to the south, Pir Mahal to the west, Rajana and Mamu Kanjan to the north, and Harappa and Sahiwal to the east.The city is set to experience enhanced connectivity with the ongoing construction of the M-4 motorway (Pakistan) section, which will soon link Kamalia to cities such as Gojra, Toba Tek Singh, and Shorkot. Kamalia’s historical significance is underscored by its location along the banks of the River Ravi. According to local lore, the town predates the era of Alexander the Great, also known as Sikander in the local language. Initially named Kot Kamal in honor of Kamal Khan, a prominent figure who led the Kharal tribe residing in large numbers around Kamalia and the entire Sandal Bar region.
